Sudanese Sugar has chosen UK engineering company Peter Brotherhood to supply four replacement steam turbine rotors to the Assalaya and Sennar Sugar Mills in Sudan. The rotors are from existing Peter Brotherhood steam turbines which have been running in waste-to-energy systems installed at the mills thirty years ago. The company has a good relationship with Sudanese Sugar having worked with the company on several sugar mill projects.
With associated services, this latest order is worth almost GBP 800,000.
The rotors will be delivered to the mills during September and October 2006.
Peter Brotherhood specialises in the design and manufacture of steam turbines in the range 1 to 40MW.
The company won the contract because of its extensive experience in the cane sugar industry.
It has been working in this industry for over 50 years and has over 500 turbines installed worldwide.
